Who am I?

My name is Naomi Tolson, and I live on the southeast coast of the UK in a city called Brighton. I’m married to Aidan, and together we home educate our three boys. Our family is currently preparing to move to Costa Rica, where we’ve bought land in a conscious mountain community — a place that reflects our love for nature, connection, and slow, intentional living.

My professional journey began in paediatric nursing and midwifery, but I quickly realised that the mainstream medical system didn’t align with how I wanted to support women and families. After the birth of my first son, I retrained as an antenatal educator and doula, and for over a decade, I worked closely with families through pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period.

I supported a wide spectrum of experiences from highly medicalised births and caesarean recoveries to home births, wild pregnancies, and free births. Alongside my 1:1 work, I ran six week postnatal groups, creating spaces for mothers to connect, share, and heal together. These circles became a cornerstone of my work, a living example of how community care can transform the way we move through early motherhood.

In 2022, my family and I spent three months living in an eco-spiritual community on the west coast of Costa Rica. Immersed in nature and surrounded by people living in deep relationship with the earth, I witnessed new ways of approaching health, spirituality, and healing. That time profoundly shifted my understanding of what it means to live and heal in alignment with the body, the land, and community.

On returning to the UK, I followed a strong inner call to integrate these insights into my professional path. I trained with the Microdosing Institute in Amsterdam, completing their year long program, and qualified as a Level 4 trauma-informed somatic counsellor through the International School of Holistic Healing.

During this time, I also contributed to Mothers of the Mushroom — a collaborative project led by Dr. James Fadiman and Mikaela de la Myco, gathering data and stories from women around the world who microdose during pregnancy and postpartum. This work continues to inform my understanding of the intersection between psychedelics, motherhood, and healing.

I’m currently deepening my practice through ongoing exploration of anti-oppressive psychotherapeutic work, learning how collective care, power awareness, and social context shape the healing process. This path continues to expand how I hold space honouring not only the personal but also the systemic dimensions of trauma and transformation.

Today, I combine these threads — birthwork, somatic therapy, and microdosing education to guide people who are exploring healing outside the mainstream. My work is rooted in the body, informed by trauma awareness, and grounded in both science and spirit.

Whether I’m holding space 1:1, guiding group programs, or teaching within my online membership, my intention is always the same: to help people remember their innate wholeness and reconnect with the wisdom that lives within.

In January 2026, I’ll be beginning postgraduate study with the University of Exeter on their Psychedelics: Mind, Medicine, and Culture programme — a pioneering course exploring the intersections of psychedelic science, anthropology, philosophy, and healing. This next step deepens my ongoing commitment to bridging science and spirit, and to grounding my work in both academic research and lived experience.
